Michael Ismail, MD

Bio

I chose Family Medicine early in medical school. My mentor, Dr. Hugh Hermann was (and is!) a practicing family physician in Woodstock, Vermont for over 50 years. His care and concern for his patients and community inspired my choice to become a family doctor.

I practice full spectrum family medicine. I especially enjoy seeing young children and teens. My focus is on disease prevention. If you come to see me, we'll be talking about immunizations, smoking cessation, weight loss, and healthy lifestyles!


I spent 5 years in private practice here in Santa Rosa prior to joining TPMG. I joined TPMG in 2006 to get away from spending time dealing with insurance companies and forms and to spend more time taking care of people.

People in my life:

After living on the east coast for 7 years during medical school and residency, my wife and I decided it was time to move home to California, where we were both raised. We chose Santa Rosa for its small town feel (compared to Sacramento where we grew up), great climate, and proximity to relatives.
